Horizon Europe Programme Committee

We are delighted to share that ATRIUM has been invited by the European Commission to present at the 26th meeting of the Horizon Europe Programme Committee, taking place on 9th July 2026 in Brussels.

ATRIUM’s Principal Investigator, Toma Tasovac, will address the committee with a presentation titled Bridging Gaps in Humanities Research, making the case for why the humanities deserve a central place in Europe’s research agenda and how collaborative research infrastructures are key to getting us there.

The presentation will draw on ATRIUM’s work to illustrate how the humanities create knowledge that matters: from cultural heritage and multilingual diversity to memory and identity. At the same time, it will highlight the structural challenge that has long accompanied this work. Namely, the gaps in data, methods, and cross-disciplinary connectivity that can slow progress and fragment the field. Toma will argue that research infrastructures like those brought together under ATRIUM are not just technical scaffolding, but essential instruments for making humanities research more coherent, more visible, and more impactful.

Being invited to present at the Programme Committee is a meaningful recognition of the project’s work and an opportunity to bring the voice of humanities research infrastructure into a policy-level conversation about the future of European research.
